What CardTrends collects

You can browse public market data, news, card pages, and community posts without an account. If you create an account, our authentication provider, Clerk, supplies CardTrends with an account identifier and available profile information such as your name, email address, username, and profile image.

CardTrends stores the content and preferences you choose to add, including profile details, posts, comments, watchlists, portfolios, holdings, and feedback. Feedback submissions may include the page path and browser user-agent string needed to reproduce a problem.

CardTrends uses Amazon CloudWatch Real User Monitoring to collect page paths, anonymous visits and sessions, approximate location, browser and device information, page performance, JavaScript errors, and failed web requests. It stores randomly generated anonymous user and session identifiers in first-party cookies for up to 30 days. CardTrends does not send your Clerk account identifier, email address, watchlist, or portfolio data to this service.

CardTrends also keeps its own aggregate daily counts on its server: page views by type of page, an estimated number of unique visitors, the website that referred a visit (the domain only), and campaign tags in links. No cookies are used for this. Visitors are estimated from a one-way hash of the IP address and browser that uses a random value discarded each day, and neither the hash nor the IP address is saved.

How information is used

We use this information to operate accounts, personalize watchlists and portfolios, publish community content you submit, protect the service from abuse, respond to feedback, diagnose failures, and improve CardTrends.

Service providers and disclosure

CardTrends uses Clerk for authentication and Amazon Web Services for hosting, storage, backups, and site reliability analytics. These providers process information as needed to deliver the service. CardTrends does not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or the public.

Public content and retention

Published community posts and comments are public. Watchlists and the current portfolio experience are account-only. Account and community data are retained while the beta operates and while needed for security, recovery, and legal obligations. Backups may retain deleted information for a limited period before expiring. CloudWatch RUM retains its end-user telemetry for 30 days.

Your choices

You may browse without an account, block or delete analytics cookies through your browser, avoid adding optional profile details, and remove items from your watchlist or portfolio. Blocking analytics may reduce the accuracy of visitor and reliability measurements but does not prevent use of public CardTrends pages. To request access to or deletion of account data during the beta, use the in-product Feedback form while signed in and identify the request as a privacy request.

Changes

This notice may change as CardTrends develops. Material changes will be reflected by the date above. CardTrends is currently a public beta intended for a United States audience.
